The Doyle family farm was established in 1875, and for generations, our family has experienced both the hardships and the rewards of life as South Carolina farmers. From its days as a tobacco farm in the 1960s through the early 1980s, the land has evolved into the cow-calf operation it is today.
John and Jeanne Doyle have carried that legacy forward by building a thriving USDA custom meat processing plant founded on the belief that local families deserve access to high-quality, locally raised meat. At Palmetto Fresh Meats, we proudly offer beef from our own cattle, along with meat sourced from other trusted local farms.
Our mission is simple: to provide our community with exceptional meat from our farm and other local farmers, while creating a dependable way for those farmers to process and market their livestock directly to consumers.
Founded in 2021, Palmetto Fresh Meats continues our family’s agricultural legacy while supporting the future of local farming.
In 2025, we expanded our reach by launching and growing our eCommerce platform, allowing customers across the region to conveniently shop our locally raised beef and pork online while staying connected to the same quality and values we’ve built in-store.

The Doyle family farm is established in South Carolina, laying the foundation for generations of agricultural tradition.
1960s – Early 1980s
The farm operates as a tobacco farm, navigating the changing landscape of Southern agriculture.
Post-1980s
The land transitions into a cow-calf operation, continuing the Doyle family’s commitment to raising livestock and working the land.
2021
The Doyle family establishes their USDA Custom Meat Processing Plant and launches Palmetto Fresh Meat, creating a direct connection between local farmers and the community while providing a reliable way to process and sell livestock.
2025
Expansion into eCommerce, making it easier than ever for customers across the region to purchase locally raised beef and pork online.
For nearly 40 years, John Doyle, has been raising premium beef cattle on his family farm in Aynor, South Carolina. What started as a tobacco farm eventually grew into a passion for raising Brangus and Ultrablack cattle – known for their superior flavor and tenderness. Together with his wife, Jeanne, who traded her kindergarten classroom for the farm’s ledger and help in the fields, they’ve built a life around hard work, family, and a commitment to quality.
As they raised their four children – Annie Reid, Abigail, Reese, and Madelyn – the farm became more than a livelihood, it became a legacy. Whether moving cattle on horseback or lending a hand in farm chores, everyone pitches in to keep the operations running smoothly.
